Background
GLANSIS serves as the Laurentian Great Lakes' "one-stop shop" for information on aquatic nonindigenous species (ANS). The site provides the best available information to limit the introduction, spread, and impact of ANS in the Great Lakes by providing a comprehensive set of tools including species profiles, a custom-generated list of invaders, a mapping tool, risk assessments, and more.

Problem
Local resource managers want to know what invasive species are in their local management area that they should control in Bay City - HUC 04080206. The outdated site impedes the decision-making process for users, specifically requiring them to scan a long dropdown bar to enter the HUC. A more modernized, user-friendly design is imperative to give users quick access and better comprehension of relevant information, thereby expediting decisions on invasive species control efforts in Bay City.
Research Findings
Page headers - For all pages, users suggested there should be a title to let them intuitively know where they are at now. It should be corresponding to the title of the menu so that the user can intuitively know what menu they just clicked.
Navigation - There should be a back button on the top left of each page or a clear navigation on the top which includes the home menu.
Species List Generator search filter - dropdown bars are very long therefore affecting decision-making process.
Fix poor aesthetics and poor readability on the home page and profile pages.
